Kookum

acrylic and pencil crayon on wood panel
24×24
2016
This was a live painting created during TEDx Calgary. Artists received wood panels with a portion of the word fearless painted in relief. I picked theĀ panel with partsĀ of the “f” and “e”. Kookum is the the Cree word for grandmother.
The paintings were all auctioned for good deeds at the end of TEDx such as babysitting for a family affected by unemployment, $5oo donated to a charity of the artists choice, and 100 hours of volunteering at the local library. My piece was auctioned for a family photoshoot and portrait by a professional photographer for a family in need.
